A Journey Through The Western Cape.
“I’ve just returned from a 1,881 km journey, tracing the curve of the Western Cape, from the colour and cadence of Bo-Kaap, to the salt air of Kalk Bay, through the stillness of the Karoo, and along the lush Garden Route, before returning home to Cape Town.
Along the way, we gathered more than the distance. We gathered stories, shared over tables, passed between hands, carried in memory. In each place, a quiet reminder: food here is not just made, it is inherited.
It lives in humble ingredients, in fire and time, and in the gestures of those who came before us.
This menu is a reflection of that passage, a considered expression of place, shaped alongside our farmers, fishermen, and artisans, where each course honours a moment, a meeting, a memory found along the way.

Recognised as Global Chef Africa & Middle East 2022–23, awarded the Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought prize for his dish Remembrance (Quail Consommé) at the San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy 2020–21, and crowned South African Chef of the Year 2024, Chef Marcus brings world-class skill paired with a deeply personal narrative.
