OUR STORY

One Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty-Seven kilometers of cultural inspiration.

“We have just returned from a 1,627 km road trip from Kalk Bay, through the Karoo, along the Garden Route, and finally back home to the Bo-Kaap in Cape Town.

Along the way, we were inspired by the people we met, the meals we shared, and the adventures that unfolded on the road. Each stop reminded me why I love the Western Cape so much, a place where iconic dishes, humble ingredients, and family recipes live on.” ~ Chef Marcus Gericke

Recognised as Global Chef Africa & Middle East 2022–23, awarded the Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought prize for his dish Remembrance (Quail Consommé) at the San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy 2020–21, and crowned South African Chef of the Year 2024, Chef Marcus brings world-class skill paired with a deeply personal narrative.

This tasting and sharing menu is our way of honouring that journey — a homegrown celebration brought to life by Chef Marcus and his team. It is crafted in close collaboration with the farmers and butchers who sustain us, and shaped by the stories, landscapes and flavours that have inspired us along the way.
